At the end of the 1950's, the original house, a well-known inn bearing the name “Malapartus”, was extended to form the structure you see today. The new hotel fit in very well at that time and soon became a well-known and popular establishment. The culinary concepts established then have stood the test of time in the intervening years. The Waldhotel in Oberreifenberg achieved prominence both culturally and economically. The house motto was and is, “Our guests should feel at home, relax and recuperate, and always want to visit again”. Tradition is a value which binds us to our past.
